Deventer – The best referee of the Netherlands, Serdar Gözübüyük, received a personal toss coin before the league game Go Ahead Eagles – Volendam in the Dutch League. The toss coin, custom made by Royal Dutch Mint, shows two sides of the referee: his professional and his personal side. The referee will use this coin for both Dutch League games and international games in Champions League and Europa League.
For the season 24/25, Gözübüyük has been named best Dutch referee of the year. To celebrate this moment, Royal Dutch Mint made him a personal toss coin. This custom made product, with the use of minted photo printing technique, was handed over just minutes before the League game Go Ahead Eagles – Volendam. Gözübüyük used his new toss coin right away for the game.
One side of the coin shows a whistle with his name on it and the title Best Referee “24/”25. Below are the seasons Gözübüyük also won this title, 2011/2012 and 2015/2016. Below are the mintmark and privy mark. The other side shows his two children, photo printed on the coin. Together the toss coin shows his professional and private life.
