Chief of Staff of the Defense Forces, Major-General Rami Saari, together with the Mayor of Hämeenlinna Olli-Poika Parviainen, had the honor of presenting the first 50 Euro Gold and Silver commemorative coin to 100 year old Finnish war veteran Antti Jahkonen. The coin was designed by Finnish sculptor Tapio Kettunen and has a nominal value of 50 euros.

In het tweede deel van 2025 zal een hedenkingsmunt worden uitgegeven ter ere van het Nederlands erfgoed: de Hollandse Waterlinies. Hiervoor is de Nederlandsche Bank, namens het Ministerie van Financiën, op zoek naar beeldende kunstenaars, ontwerpers en vormgevers die deze munt willen ontwerpen.
De Eerste Dag Uitgifte van het 750 jaar Amsterdam Vijfje kon alleen besteld worden op de dag van de Ceremoniële Eerste Slag op 27 oktober 2024. De definitieve oplage is vastgesteld op 3.805.
The First Day Issue of the 750 years Amsterdam 5 Euro Coin could only be ordered on the day of the ceremonial First Strike on October 27th 2024. The definitive mintage is set at 3.805 pieces.
De ceremoniële Eerste Slag van de nieuwe herdenkingsmunt vond plaats voorafgaand aan het openingsconcert van Amsterdam750. Zo werd de start van het jubileumjaar op een bijzondere manier ingeluid.
Wethouder Hester van Buren (Financiën): “Dat Amsterdam bij de viering van haar 750-jarige bestaan een eigen munt krijgt is een heel mooi eerbetoon. Een geweldig en tastbaar aandenken aan deze bijzondere verjaardag, verkrijgbaar in zilver en goud, voor jong en oud.”
